# Corlune: an ambient, minimal launcher for Android

> **Type, Return, gone.** Corlune is an ambient, minimal Android launcher that swaps your home screen for almost nothing: your wallpaper, a clock, and one search bar that opens apps, flips settings and answers questions before you finish asking.

- Website: <https://corlune.app/>
- Version 0.2 (early build), Android 10 and up, about 2.5 MB
- Free. Not on the Google Play Store yet.
- Pronounced "cor-LOON"

## The apps you stop opening

Half of what you open an app for is one quick answer. Corlune gives it to you in the search bar, so you never leave the home screen.

| Instead of | You type | You get |
|---|---|---|
| Calculator | `18% of 64.50` | 11.61 |
| World clock | `9am nyc to london` | 14:00 in London |
| Currency converter | `100 usd to inr` | The amount in Indian rupees |
| Unit converter | `350 f to c` | 176.67 °C |
| Calendar | `days until christmas` | The number of days, and the date |
| Settings, three menus deep | `dnd` | Do Not Disturb, opened directly |
| Color picker | `#ff6363` | rgb(255, 99, 99) · hsl(0, 100%, 69%) |
| A notes app and some mental math | `2h 30m in min` | 150 min |

Search also opens every installed app, including work-profile apps, with forgiving matching: `goo ma` finds Google Maps and typos like `spotfy` find Spotify. Short aliases (`yt` for YouTube) open an app on the keystroke, and Corlune learns which app you mean for a search.

## A home screen that does nothing

No app grid on the home screen, no dock, no badges. Your wallpaper, a clock and widgets from any app, on as many pages as you like. The search bar stays out of sight until you reach for it.

Every gesture is yours to assign. The defaults:

- **Swipe up:** search
- **Double-tap:** the app drawer, every app A to Z
- **Swipe down:** notifications
- **Swipe sideways:** pages, with a little wallpaper parallax
- **Hold:** move, resize or add widgets. Hold one at the edge to carry it to the next page.

## Two screens, two homes

On a foldable or a flip phone, the cover screen and the inner screen are arranged separately, each with its own widgets, pages and grid. Fold it, unfold it, and each one is where you left it.

## Questions, answered

### Is Corlune Raycast for Android?

It's built in the same spirit: one search bar that opens apps, runs commands and answers questions as you type. Raycast has no Android app, and Spotlight is Apple-only. Corlune is an independent project, not affiliated with Raycast.

### What makes it a minimalist launcher?

Your home screen holds only your wallpaper, a clock and the widgets you add. There's no app grid, dock or badges. Every app is a few letters away in search, and a double-tap opens an A–Z app drawer.

### What can I type into the search bar?

App names (typos are fine), short aliases like yt for YouTube, settings like Wi-Fi, and apps' own shortcuts like New tab. It starts timers and alarms, finds emoji to copy (:party), and answers math, percentages, unit and currency conversions, time zones, date math, colors and number bases.

### Does it work with widgets and foldables?

Yes. Add widgets from any app, resize them on a grid and spread them across pages. On foldables and flip phones, the cover screen and the inner screen each keep their own layout.

### Is it private?

There's no account, analytics or ads. What Corlune learns stays in one file on your phone. Its only network request is for currency rates, made when you ask for a conversion.

### How do I get it?

Corlune is free. Version 0.2 is an early build for Android 10 and up, and it isn't on the Google Play Store yet.

## The fine print is short

- **2.5 MB:** the whole download. No Material library, no database, no tracking SDK.
- **Android 10 and up:** phones, foldables and tablets, plus work-profile apps.
- **Free:** Corlune costs nothing to download or use.
- **No account:** no sign-in, no analytics, no ads.
- **One file:** what Corlune learns stays in one file on your phone, kept out of cloud backups.
- **One request:** Corlune goes online for currency rates, and only when you ask for a conversion.
- **Monochrome:** on purpose. The only color on your screen should be your wallpaper.
